The biggest benefit to down is that it packs down extremely well compared to the synthetic options that generally populate this price range - so you can actually fit this in your backpack! 

If you're out on the trail trying to share warmth with a special someone, you can buy the right and left side versions of these and zip them together to form one big bag as well!
